Business After Hours Connects Community and Cultivates Future Entrepreneurs
April 23rd, 2025
The air buzzed with energy and the spirit of collaboration at the Taylorville Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours event on Wednesday, April 23rd. The exclusive member gathering took place at the newly launched event venue, Unlimited Possibilities at Suessie's Resale UBNA, offering a vibrant backdrop for connection and community support.
The evening was a testament to the power of local partnership, co-hosted by three dynamic Taylorville Chamber members: Suessie's Resale UBNA, Tiger Loans, and The Wolfe Ranch Girl Handcrafted Goods. Becky & Hailey Adcock of Suessie's, alongside April Wolfe, The Wolfe Ranch Girl, all active members of both the Taylorville Chamber and WISE (formerly IFBW), showcased their deep commitment to fostering the growth of local and women-owned enterprises.
Adding an exciting dimension to the event, Becky, Hailey, and April extended invitations to two bright, up-and-coming businesswomen from the Christian County CEO program: Laura Wayman of Farm Girl Flowers and Macy Wagahoff of Wonder & Graze Mobile Charcuterie. This thoughtful inclusion provided the CEO students with an invaluable opportunity to network with established chamber members, gain firsthand experience in a business setting, and showcase their growing ventures.
The event was a success, drawing a good turnout of Chamber members eager to explore the new venue and forge meaningful connections. Conversations flowed easily as attendees mingled, sharing insights and exploring potential collaborations. The CEO students, Laura and Macy, embraced the opportunity to engage with the local business community, demonstrating their entrepreneurial spirit and the innovative ideas behind Farm Girl Flowers and Wonder & Graze.
Adding an element of excitement to the evening, eight delightful GIFTaways were awarded through a blind draw. Lucky attendees included: Lori Simmons (Battery Specialists & Golf Cars), who received a Chamber Gift Certificate; Andrew Basso (Sparklight), who won a Suessie's Positive Perks VIP Discount Card; Brenda Spurling (PayCourt), who took home a Wolfe Ranch Girl Gift Certificate; Diane Beatty (CPA, Ret.) and Mason Crow (People's Bank & Trust), each winning a beautiful Farm Girl Flowers Centerpiece; Linda Osborn (Ragged Edges, Bespoke Collective), who also received a Wolfe Ranch Girl Gift Certificate; Nancy McClure (McClure-Halberg), who won a Chamber Gift Certificate; and Gloria Henson (Gloria's Garden at Suessie's Resale), who claimed a Suessie's Positive Perks VIP Discount Card.
The Business After Hours event at Unlimited Possibilities not only provided a valuable networking platform for Taylorville Chamber members but also served as a powerful demonstration of established businesses investing in the future generation of entrepreneurs. The collaboration between the Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce, Suessie's Resale UBNA, Tiger Loans, The Wolfe Ranch Girl, and the Christian County CEO students highlighted the strength and supportive nature of the local business ecosystem.
